The 6110 Navigator support page is up on Nokia-India site. So expect it soon in stores.Its main feature: its a Navigator. Actually it comes with an internal GPS receiver and Map's application. So does the N95, but the maps software used in 6110 is not Nokia's own Maps software but its Route 66, which is a third party application. Which means that the phone will come with quiet a comprehensive map of India.
Actually India is not a Map country. We usually do not carry around maps like they do in the west, even when we are driving long distances. So having commercials out with people getting happy using the maps feature wont entice any one buying the 6110. They will really have to price it right as there are a lot of phones with the same specifications (except GPS).
yeah ..the 6110 uses Route 66 maps ..which officially dont have maps for India right now. So i wonder what they're gonna use for mapping India ??

Cannot say anything about the launch, but the E90 was launched within a week in India when the support page went up on the NokiaIndia site. So expect it very soon.

ReplyDeleteJust got my Nokia 6110 navigator got pissed off since it didn't had india maps on board nokia care don't know any thing since its 1st phone with route 66 navigation. accidently i runned route66 dvd provided by nokia while i was online it downloaded and installed it on my mobile. connect mobile to pc before running route66 dvd. India map2007Q1 is free and India map2007Q3 is paid. its good it takes 3-5 minutes for 1st time to connect. Be in open sky.
